Middle School Math and Science Teacher, full time
Oak Grove School seeks an experienced science/math teacher for the Middle School, grades 7 & 8. The position is full-time (classes, athletic coaching, advising, leading camping trips, attending school events and staff meetings). The ideal candidate should possess curiosity and passion in exploring the significance of science in life and learning, with the ability to engage and intellectually excite students in that pursuit while maintaining the philosophy/intent of the school. Strong candidates will have at least several years of teaching experience, preferably with middle-school students. It is important that candidates possess flexibility, energy, commitment to teamwork and appreciation for adolescents. A current teaching credential is required.
High School Spanish Teacher, full time
Duties will be to teach Spanish I, II, III, and IV to grades 9 through 12, as well as pre-high school Spanish to 8th grade. There is one class per grade and class-size is small. The ideal candidate will have a BA in Spanish plus a current teaching credential and/or MA in Spanish, as well as some years of high school Spanish teaching experience. We are looking for a mature and highly organized teacher who can build on existing curriculum and help develop new curriculum.
High School Social Studies/English Teacher, full time
Duties will be to teach combined 9th grade English and World History; 11th grade US History; and one semester of World Religions and one semester of Ethics or Politics for 12th grade. In addition this position would become the Class Advisor for the 9th grade. There is one class per grade and class-size is small. The ideal candidate will have a BA and/or MA in History or a related Humanities area with coursework in English and experience teaching High School Social Studies. A current teaching credential is preferred but not required. We are looking for a mature and highly organized teacher who can build on existing curriculum and help develop new curriculum.
High School 12th Grade Physics Teacher (including AP), part time
Duties will be to teach one class of 12th grade Physics including a few students who want to do AP Physics. This amounts to 4 hours of classroom-time per week during the academic year. Classroom size is small. The ideal candidate will have a BA and/or MA in Physics and experience teaching High School Physics, including the AP curriculum. A current teaching credential is preferred but not required. We are looking for a mature and highly organized teacher.
