libraries

Oak Grove’s new elementary/junior high school library celebrated its grand opening in September 2004. Wood-beam ceilings, comfortable reading nooks, and views of the Topa Topa mountains provide a serene backdrop for reading groups, individual study time, computer research, or to simply curl up with a good book. The school librarian supports students as they become effective users of ideas and information through the development of research and study skills. Special events and programs designed to promote reading, such as puppet shows, author birthdays and read-athons are held throughout the year.

The high school library and student center are home to the high school book and periodical collections, the new multimedia computer lab, college counseling, and a staffed student support center. Under the guidance of the center’s coordinator, high school students can get help with schoolwork and research projects, hone their study skills, and connect with community resources. The student center also provides space for student meetings, performances and special events.
