Thank You to all of our parents who helped make EarthDay 2008 a great success! We brought a fun, enriching event to the Ojai Valley, showcased our school and partnered with an awesome local group, the Ojai Valley Green Coalition.
Oak Grove Secondary School
Next year we will see some exciting changes to the Junior High and High School programs. Oak Grove Secondary School will soon encompass grades 7 through 12. This will be a six-year, inquiry-based college preparatory program with each grade thoughtfully building upon the previous. Outdoor education, project based learning and a vibrant arts program will continue to play a key role in learning. Grades 7 and 8 will remain in their current location. Welcome to Development Associate Katie Metzger
Katie will be working in cooperation with Development Director Jodi Grass as the school moves toward building its endowment and broadening its fundraising base. Her current focus is building a thriving alumni community of OGS graduates, former students, staff and parents. Katie holds a MA in Conflict Resolution from Antioch University, a BA in Communications from UCSB and has 10 years experience working in program development and communications. She is also mom to Eden in Kindergarten and co-chair of the Parent Forum. Katie is currently planning an event on Saturday, June 14 celebrating the Oak Grove community, past and present. Update on 2008/2009 Teachers Kim Gair and Willem Zwart are continuing the hiring process for next year. Please feel free to call Kim directly if you have questions about this process, x105, or email by clicking here. We will post information on this page as soon as any new teaching staff are confirmed. Parents will have an opportunity to meet their children's new teachers later in the year.
Wednesday Coffee& Conversation
Stop by the Main House between 7:45 and 8:30 am Wednesdays for coffee and casual conversation with Interim Associate Heads of School Kim Gair and Willem Zwart, and, when possible, a member of the Board of Trustees. Thank you to KFA trustees Craig Walker and James Paul for joining our first session.
