Relationship to others and to global communities is a key element of The Art of Living and Learning. A Krishnamurti education cultivates a global outlook and encourages students to relate to the world in the broadest sense, asking that they see themselves as part of the human family, without regard to race, religion or ethnicity.
Cross cultural learning experiences are embedded in the day to day curriculum - through social studies, the study of Spanish language and culture, assemblies that bring an internationally diverse series of musicians, speakers and performers to the campus, and a culturally rich art and music program - as well as in Oak Grove’s camping and travel program. Older students have traveled to Mexico and Baja, California, Hawaii, and the Southwest and Oak Grove seniors culminate their high school experience with a month long trip to India. Community service is an integral part of these trips further developing in the students a commitment to global outreach and responsibility.
Oak Grove School is fortunate to be part of an international network of Krishnamurti schools that extend across the globe from England to India. In addition to the senior trip to India where Oak Grove students visit our sister schools, teachers from the British and Indian schools frequently visit Oak Grove providing opportunities for cultural exchange.
