This month in Kindergarten and Preschool, we’ve talked about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, his life and his ideas about justice and non-violence. Young children have lots of experience with the day-to-day conflicts generated by their own differences (gender, age, experience, temperament, the way they look, their abilities). They desire to be treated fairly and have day-to-day problems with unfairness. They have the capacity for expressing hurt and for enjoying empathy and fairness.
