The science program is designed to introduce students to current scientific thought about the evolution, structure, function, and inter-relatedness of the physical world. There is a strong emphasis on science as it relates to current environmental issues. Students are encouraged to use reasoning from direct experience (with nature and using laboratory apparatus) and abstraction from sophisticated experiments and student designed projects. Science and math teachers work closely to maximize opportunities to apply math directly and meaningfully to their science investigations.
